Department of Microbiology
Professor Brigadier General (Retired) Dr. Narjis Maliha Kawsar is the professor and head of the Department of Microbiology at Monno Medical College, Manikganj, Bangladesh. She earned her MBBS from Dhaka Medical College, followed by a DCP in Clinical Pathology from the University of Dhaka and an FCPS in Microbiology from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS).
Dr. Kawsar served for over 24 years in the Bangladesh Army, contributing extensively as a pathologist and academician in various Combined Military Hospitals and BGB hospitals. She also held positions as professor and head of microbiology and pathology at Armed Forces Medical College and Army Medical College, Cumilla, retiring as advisor pathologist and head of department.
She received advanced training in microbiology at AIIMS, New Delhi, and training in medical education at CME, Dhaka. Her numerous publications and active memberships reflect her lifelong dedication to medical microbiology and professional mentorship.
