The Department of Otorhinolaryngology—Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT)—at Monno Medical College is dedicated to providing comprehensive education and clinical training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck. The department plays a vital role in shaping future doctors with sound knowledge, surgical skills, and clinical reasoning in the ENT specialty.

Following the guidelines of the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC), the department integrates academic teaching with practical exposure to ensure holistic learning for MBBS students.

Academic Highlights:

  • Experienced Faculty: Our department is led by skilled ENT specialists and academic staff who deliver lectures, supervise clinical training, and mentor students in both hospital and community settings.
  • Clinical Exposure: Students are trained in ENT outpatient and inpatient services, gaining hands-on experience in patient evaluation, diagnostic procedures, and minor surgical techniques.
  • Surgical Observations: Students witness common ENT surgeries, including tonsillectomy, septoplasty, endoscopic sinus surgery, and ear procedures, enriching their operative knowledge.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Emphasis is placed on developing competency in using ENT instruments, performing otoscopy, nasal endoscopy, tuning fork tests, and throat examinations.
  • Interactive Learning: Academic activities such as case presentations, seminars, multimedia lectures, and practical demonstrations help students grasp complex ENT topics effectively.

Teaching & Learning Activities:

  • Didactic lectures on ENT anatomy, physiology, and diseases
  • Bedside teaching in wards and clinics
  • ENT instrument handling and procedural demonstrations
  • Audiological and endoscopic diagnostic training
  • Participation in community outreach and hearing screening programs
  • Regular assessments, OSCEs, and practical exams
