Department of Microbiology
Dr. Tarana Jahan is an associate professor in the Department of Microbiology at Monno Medical College, Manikganj, Bangladesh. An MBBS degree was obtained, followed by an M.Phil. in Medical Microbiology. She joined Monno Medical College as an assistant professor in 2019 and was promoted to associate professor in 2025, alongside involvement in diagnostic laboratory consultancy. To strengthen her expertise, she has attended numerous trainings and workshops on scientific writing, research methodology, biostatistics, data analysis, antimicrobial stewardship, real-time PCR, and medical education.
Her research interests focus on infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, diagnostic microbiology, and immunological responses. More than 40 scientific publications have been authored in peer-reviewed national and international journals, and research has been presented at prestigious scientific conferences. She holds editorial roles in several medical journals and maintains active membership with BSMM, OHB, ASM, and BIA. She is dedicated to advancing microbiology and mentoring future professionals.
