The 93rd birth anniversary of the late Harunur Rashid Khan Monno, founder of Monno Group of Industries, pioneer of industrial development, educationist, philanthropist, distinguished politician, and former minister, was observed at Monno Medical College with due dignity through various commemorative programs.
The program began at 8:30 a.m. with a commemorative rally from the college premises, followed by the laying of floral wreaths at his grave, grave visitation, and a special prayer. Faculty members, doctors, officers, staff, and students of the college, hospital, and nursing unit participated in the program.
At 9:00 a.m., a documentary on his life, work, and contributions was screened on the college premises, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony. Special food was also served to patients admitted to Monno Medical College Hospital.
A special Doa Mahfil was held after Asr prayers at Huron Nahar Monno Jame Mosque, seeking forgiveness and eternal peace for the departed soul. The programs were organized by Monno Medical College with the active participation of Monno Medical College Hospital and Monno Medical College Nursing Unit.
The program was attended by Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Karim, Principal, Monno Medical College; Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. Zulfiquar Ahmed Amin, Director, Monno Medical College Hospital; and Mrs. Belatun Nessa, Head of Nursing, along with doctors, faculty members, officers, staff, and students of the college and hospital.
