On 1 September 2026, at around 4:30–5:00 PM, a child who had sustained a head injury and was experiencing seizures was brought to Monno Medical College Hospital in an emergency.
Before arriving at Monno Medical College Hospital, the child had been taken to two renowned hospitals. Without providing any emergency management, the family was advised to take the child to Dhaka immediately for further treatment. Before leaving Manikganj for Dhaka, considering the deteriorating condition of the child, the family decided to make one final attempt to seek immediate emergency care at Monno Medical College Hospital.
At the Department of Emergency & Casualty, Dr. Jayanta Saha, Senior Emergency Medical Officer, promptly assessed the child and initiated the necessary emergency management. Following the emergency treatment, the child showed remarkable improvement. While on the way to Dhaka by ambulance, the child became conscious, returned to almost normalcy, and even started playing inside the ambulance.
For further evaluation and reassurance, the family subsequently took the child to the National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital (NINS), Dhaka. After further examinations and investigations, the family was reassured by the treating physicians that there was no serious underlying problem and that the initial emergency management provided at Monno Medical College Hospital was adequate and appropriate. Deeply grateful for the care that helped bring their child back to normal, the child’s father presented Dr. Jayanta Saha with a 22-Carat Gold Medal as a profound gesture of appreciation and respect.
